PLANNING MINISTER PARTICIPATES IN THE OPENING OF SUHAIR OTHMAN'S EXHIBITION AT THE MUKHTAR MUSEUM
Egypt’s Minister of Planning & Economic Development, H.E. Dr. Hala El-Said participated recently in the opening of an art exhibition by the artist, Dr. Suhair Othman. The exhibition was held at the Mahmoud Mukhtar Museum under the title "Originality & Contemporary".
El-Said stressed that the importance of handicrafts is reflected in the fact that they indicate aspects of Egyptian identity, and express aspects of the cultural heritage that it is critical to preserve and develop awareness of, both internally and externally.
El-Said referred to the Egyptian state's interest in supporting purposeful art, which is the basis for Egypt's soft power at the regional and international levels.
Artist Suhair Othman's exhibition includes about 80-100 different works of art in graphic, computer graphics, drawing, batik, printed textile hangings, tent hangings, kilims, handmade carpets, and collages, all handmade.
